Several years ago, I started to self-identify as a CONTENT PROVIDER. I thought this was a better term for all the PACKAGERS who needed to have a tidy box in which to organize individuals, their personalities, and their occupations. I am a Costume Designer, Scenic Designer, Graphic Artist, Playwright, Novelist, Painter, Printmaker, and Found Object Sculptor. Whew!

CONTENT PROVIDER; a cleaner, neater HIPSTER.

"What is your process?" is an entirely intrusive question, especially when you're in the throes of creation, and someone wants to know what in the hell are you doing. What does it all mean? Why this, why that? -- because it has to mean something . . . right!. . otherwise, it couldn't possibly fulfill any purpose, let alone be immaculately packaged in a box with a label explaining exactly why and what it is.

There is no recipe for the process, and that's what the PACKAGERS want. They want a recipe so they can go back to their cubical lives and create precisely the same creation, making a slight, personal adjustment (that's called being CREATIVE) so that whatever it is the RECIPE creates will look good hanging above their couch. If they follow the recipe, they'll be successful and have a tangible product -- something to be proud of, something they can tell others, "Not for sale at any price. Dealers need not inquire."

I am bombarded with images (aren't we all?!) daily. My head fills with the most wondrous, magical, vivid, and exciting thoughts, but I don't always know what structure these gifts desire for their transition from the Radiant to the Elemental.

A blank page is a structure; the content is the wondrous, magical, vivid, and exciting thoughts I receive from the Universe. Is this blank page a painting? A sculpture? A new play? A new novel? Whatever these blank pages are, whether on canvas or paper, found objects or in fabric, in paint, or through many, many words in crazy, crazy arrangements, they are most certainly stories. Whenever the content tunes into me, I begin a whacked-out journey . . . heading out for the territories at midnight without any headlights searching for content.

My CREVADO is my wondrous, magical, absurd, adventurous, alternative, awkward, beautiful, brave, cheery, comforting, courageous, curious, cynical, dark, deceitful, kooky, lusty, naughty, outrageous, provocative, quixotic, sad, sexy, shocking, tender, thoughtful, thrilling, tragic, warm, weird, vivid, crazy, wild, irreverent, and exciting CONTENT.
